Il Podere

Dating back to the time of the Agrarian Reform, was originally used for the breeding and taming of Maremma horses, under the expert guidance of Fernando Forci, one of the area’s best known butteri, who had his equestrian domain here.

In recent years, in addition to the restoration of the historical structures and the conservation of the fields adjacent to the property, cultivated with cereals and hay as in the past, a garden and vegetable patch with native crops have been created and the ancient rows of olive trees, which now number around 620 trees, have been extended.

Manor House

The manor house has been reconstructed by recuperating the styles of the time and of the area.
Volumes, colours and details allow for a balanced inclusion in the landscape, with a distinct note of character.
Manor and Guest House, although different, dialogue in terms of architecture, materials and colours, characterising the original style of the farmhouse in harmony with the land.

The Garden

In the spring of 2019, the landscaper Ivan Gallo dedicated himself to redesigning the vegetable garden, where large raised tubs have been placed to grow typical essences of the area. To complete the project, comfortable seats where one can rest, clean vegetables and admire the unspoilt nature.

The Olive Grove

The olive grove is a strong symbol of identity for Podere Pagliaiolo. Its long green rows, which turn silver under the moonlight, encapsulate the essence of Tuscan flavours and atmosphere. Our farm’s olive grove is the result of the recovery of ancient plants, to which we have added new trees, mainly of frantoiano, moraiolo, pendolino and leccino quality. Today we have about 620 trees that produce an excellent extra virgin olive oil.

The Pool

For our guests bathing is no problem! A short distance from Il Podere you can bathe in the fresh, clear waters of the Albegna river. If instead you want to take the car, in less than an hour you can reach the beaches of Capalbio or Argentario. But there is nothing better than taking a nice nap lying in the sun or under a beach umbrella and then diving into the salt water of the swimming pool in front of the house!
