Among the most exciting activities are hiking and canyoning at the Strette dell’Albegna. In other stretches of the river, you can swim, wade or climb.
For golf and nature lovers, the Terme di Saturnia Golf Club is surrounded by greenery and has an extraordinary 18-hole course, designed by Ronald Fream of Studio GolfPlan. A championship course of 6,316 metres on 70 moved hectares!

The whole area offers markets, fairs and village festivals with Butteri performances, film festivals such as the Saturnia Film Festival and the Morellino Classica Festival in Scansano. Consulting the area’s websites, there is a great choice of events in all seasons and in every village you can breathe in the atmosphere of a genuine land, yet to be discovered.

Coming from Grosseto/Scansano, on Provincial Road 159, turn right at Località Torricelle at km 85.9. After about 3.5 km of tarmac road and a hairpin bend downhill, turn right onto a dirt road (there are also signs indicating Valle Chiara and Lo Ziro). After 400 metres of dirt road you will find a wooden Maremma gate at the entrance to the house.

Take the Roma-Civitavecchia motorway and then the Aurelia towards Grosseto. At km 110 of the Aurelia, immediately after the Montalto di Castro exit, turn right towards Vulci. After 9 km, turn left for Manciano. Once in Manciano, continue towards Saturnia / Scansano. Pass Montemerano and continue straight on (Caution: DO NOT turn right for Saturnia). After crossing the bridge over the Albegna river, after about 3 km, turn left for Torricelle. After about 3.5 km of asphalt road and a hairpin bend uphill, turn left onto a dirt road (there are also signs indicating Valle Chiara and Lo Ziro). After 400 metres of gravel road you will find a wooden Maremma gate at the entrance to the house.
